Our Studio Awarded Concept Bid for Harborfront Arts Pavilion

We’re excited to share that A Kind of Space has been chosen as the lead design team for the upcoming Harborfront Arts Pavilion. Selected from a shortlist of distinguished international studios, our proposal was recognized for its thoughtful response to the coastal site and its emphasis on inclusive public space.

The scheme features a constellation of light-filled studios and gathering halls arranged along a sheltered boardwalk, encouraging visitors to flow naturally between workshops, performances, and community events. A sweeping aluminum-and-wood roof unifies the structures, echoing the curves of nearby sailing vessels while offering protection from sun and wind.

With the commission secured, we now progress into early concept development. Construction is anticipated to commence in mid-2026. We look forward to collaborating with the municipality, local makers, and cultural partners as the project continues to evolve.
